The snowdrifts are melting, the days are growing longer, and the Newport Yachting Center is gearing up for another season! The lineup for all 2009 Newport Waterfront Events has been announced, and promises another great year of waterfront fun. Highlights include two new event partnerships - the Nantucket Nectars Sunset Music Series and the Stop & Shop Taste of Rhode Island - as well as the return of the rest of our famous events at the Newport Yachting Center.

Our summer-long Sunset Music Series is back, but this year we’ve joined forces with everyone’s favorite juice guys, Nantucket Nectars, and are proud to unveil the new Nantucket Nectars Sunset Music Series! Our lineup is shaping up to be one of the best in recent years, with Los Lobos, Susan Tedeschi and special guest Shemekia Copeland, and The Robert Cray Band among 2009’s confirmed acts. The Sovereign Bank Family Skating Center has closed its gates for the season, but not before hundreds of smiling faces, glittering skates and generous hearts had transformed the season into yet another winter warmed with joy. Our tireless rink staff wish to sincerely thank all our neighbors who contributed to our community efforts and helped make this one of our most successful seasons yet! See you next season!
