Special Two-Day Marine Weather Course Offered at NIBS

No pre-requisite is required for this Level 1 course, taught by recently retired NOAA/NWS Ocean Prediction Center meteorologist, Lee S. Chesneau. The objective of the two-day class is an understanding of how weather works and proper interpretation of marine surface weather charts. Register online in advance or at the show office on site. The class is located at 250 Thames Street, 3rd Floor, across from the Bowen’s Wharf show site. For more details and to register in advance, please click here.

For Your Added Convenience

In an effort to make your visit to the show as seamless as possible, we added a few new features for attendees to enjoy. Credit cards are now accepted at all ticket booths, so use whichever one is most convenient for you. Also, keep your eye out for the large format “You Are Here” site maps. These signs are placed around the show to help attendees navigate the sprawling 13 acres of the show. When hunger strikes, find delicious grilled lunches, a raw bar as well as casual eats and light fare at our three different concession areas throughout the site. Don’t forget Newport County Resident's and Military Day, Friday, September 16th. Admission is half price with proof of Newport residency with driver's license or other picture ID, and/or military ID. Finally, when it's time to relax after the show, enjoy the plethora of unique restaurants, boutique shopping and nighttime entertainment right outside the show gates.

Fun Times For Families!

To help the young ones enjoy the day, keep a look out for “Mister Twister” on North Commercial Wharf, Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 2pm. Not your average “balloon guy,” Mister Twister is fun entertainment for the whole family with music, balloons, singing, and a few good magic tricks up his sleeve. Families can also visit the Discover Sailing Program – located on the Bannister’s Wharf Fuel Dock – which introduces families and individuals to the sport with free sails on beautiful Narragansett Bay all four days of the show. To register for a free sail, sign up at the Discover Sailing booth on Dock N – 4.

"Add Some Music To Your Day" with Al Jardine

Following the close of the Boat Show on Sunday, September 18th, spend the evening at a concert with Al Jardine, founding member of the Beach Boys, and his Endless Summer Band. Boat show exhibitors and attendees receive a boat show special offer of 10% off regular ticket prices. The concert takes place at the International Tennis Hall of Fame front lawn courts.  For more information click here.
