Castle Hill Inn and Resort in Newport, RI is now hiring a PURCHASING MANAGER. 

This purchasing manager oversees the purchasing of Food and Beverage goods for preparation for sale to guests and oversees purchasing of Hotel amenities for hotel guests.  This individual also performs proper inventory controls, cost adjustments and vendor communication.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·   Ordering, inventory, storage and invoicing of all food- related products

·    Research of all hotel products, requesting samples as needed

·   Monthly and mid-month food and beverage inventory inputs and cost adjustments

·   Working with vendors to maximize cost savings through bidding, rebate programs, bulk buying, etc.

·    Exhibiting proper leadership-Training, Mentoring and Counseling of all hotel employees

·   Completing a weekly stewarding schedule utilizing working budget– Participates with Chefs to create Weekly schedule

·  Interviewing and hiring seasonal employees for purchasing.

·  Keeping storage areas clean and organized-using FIFO and established Company policies

·   Monitoring and tracking all chemical products

·   Consistent attendance at management level meetings, which include Food and Beverage, manager and kitchen meetings weekly, bi weekly and monthly

·  Food Safety Plan development, including maintenance and monitoring of plan’s procedures and policies

· Tracking and recording all invoices in the invoice journal

·   Ordering specialty items as indicated on banquet event orders and upon request
