Newport, RI - January 20, 2009- 22 Bowen's Wine Bar & Grille, located at 22 Bowen's Wharf in Newport, RI, is pleased to present an exclusive dinner featuring the Kendall-Jackson on Tuesday, February 16th. 22 Bowen's will host Danielle Botrose, Northeast Director of Education at Majestic Fine Wines, who will lead guests through each selection of wine as they are paired with Executive Sous Chef Chris Jones' elegant four-course dinner.

The evening will begin with a selection of hors d'oeuvres, including Gorgonzola Stuffed, Bacon Wrapped Dates; Mini Apple Tart with crispy prosciutto; Tuna Tostada with black bean salad and lime aïoli; and Seared Beef Tenderloin with dried fruit compote, all served with the 2008 Kendall-Jackson Vintner's Reserve Summation, boasting refreshing flavors of honey dew melon, apricot, pink grapefruit and white pepper, and rated a '90' by Wine & Spirits.
Dinner will begin with Pan-Fried Cod Steak with a Yukon potato gaufrette and lemon-cornichon tartar sauce, paired with the 2006 Kendall-Jackson Grand Reserve Chardonnay, featuring elegant and tropical hints of lemon and other citrus fruits with notes of Fuji apple, and rated a '90' by Wine Advocate.
A dish of Smoked Hudson Valley Duck Breast with pancetta, roasted shallot, sweet potato hash, and a maple glaze will follow, complemented by the 2005 Seco Hylands Pinot Noir Arroyo Seco, a beautifully crisp Pinot, dry and silky and loaded with ripe cherry, raspberry, cola and Asian spice flavors, rated a '90' by Wine Enthusiast.
The evening's entrée will feature Grilled Prime Skirt Steak, served with crisp polenta, wild mushroom and cippolini onion confit, and Hawkeye Mountain Cabernet lacquer, and the 2005 Hawkeye Mountain Cabernet, showing intense varietal character of rich black currants and cedar, with a tangy minerality, rated a '93' by Wine Enthusiast.
The evening will conclude with a Roasted Bartlett Pear in caramel sauce with whipped mascarpone cheese, toasted pistachios, and the 2006 Late Harvest Chardonnay, featuring honeycomb, peach, nectarine and candied pear flavors and aromas of cinnamon, Fuji apple, kiwi and floral notes to create this lush and indulgent dessert wine.
